We believe that a more diverse community is a stronger community. The Sacramento Comedy Foundation is committed to diversity, equality, and inclusion, at all levels of our organization. We want all of our patrons to see themselves represented on our stage.
To further that cause, Sacramento Comedy Foundation provides scholarships for comedy classes at Comedy Spot and to Kids and Teens Improv Workshops, through the Foundation Youth Improv Program, to those who have been historically underrepresented and for whom money is a barrier.
Scholarships are awarded on a case-by-case and class-by-class basis for all levels of our adult improv, stand-up, and sketch comedy classes and to our youth improv workshops. To see our full academic catalog, click here. You do not have to audition for this scholarship, but you must begin at the 101 level for each type of class. The scholarship is for the opportunity to participate in a class. The recipient does not receive a cash award.
If you would like to donate to the scholarship fund, the Foundation will give two class scholarships for every donation amount equal to a paid class. ($125-$160) These scholarships will be IN ADDITION to the scholarships we award per month. Donate here.
